Progress West Awarded for Excellence in Quality Care

June 4, 2008 -- Progress West HealthCare Center is named a 2008 Professional Research Consultants (PRC) Top Performer Hospital for Patient Perception. PRC's overall "Top Performer" award is given annually to a health care provider scoring at or above the 100th percentile in overall quality of care. Progress West departments receiving the Top Performer award were the Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient, outpatient GI/endoscopy, and outpatient radiology. For the first time, one hospital won the three top awards for inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.

Progress West received an additional six "5 Star" awards for scores in the top 90th percentile or above for a rating of "Excellent" for overall quality of care in Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient, outpatient surgery, outpatient radiology, and outpatient GI/endoscopy.

PRC conducts Patient Perception research and obtains opinions of patients at Progress West. Confidential interviews assess patients' perceptions of their care. Findings are presented to the Hospital to use in continuous improvement and enhancement of patient satisfaction. 

Progress West's rankings are reflective of how it scored among 300 geographically diverse national health care facilities, including Mayo Clinic Hospitals, Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, and Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas.
